He is an author of more than 100 works including 6 collective monographs, 2 text-books and 15 international publications. 2 Ph.D. theses were successfully defended under his leading. He began scientific and practical work in the field of industrial fishing over 30 years ago. Primarily he engaged in the problems of informatization in the fishing industry and fisheries monitoring, supervised research and design work on the creation of a fisheries information system. During 2000-2006 he was the head of the research work on implementation and improvement of the information system for fisheries monitoring. He was a member of the Dissertation Council of Far Eastern State Technical University. During 1995-2005 he was a regular member of the Far Eastern Fisheries Board, the international fisheries commissions and a representative of the Russian delegation at international meetings on monitoring and control of fisheries, held in Russia and abroad. As the scientific head of the Russian delegation he took part in meetings on Maritime satellite communications conducted in Australia, Germany, France, Holland, Japan, Norway and the USA.
