  • commercial seaweed cultivation and algal crop protection from pathogenic organisms.

Dr. G.H. Kim is an expert in zoology and hydrobiology. He is an author of more than 400 research papers in these directions: articles, theses and conference proceedings, including 74 papers indexed in Web of Science and Scopus and 96 papers in other peer-reviewed journals. He is an author of 9 research patents. He also co-authored 5 scientific books and over 300 abstracts and proceedings of scientific conferences. Per different years of his scientific career, Dr. G.H. Kim has received numerous awards for his scientific achievements. The co-authored presentations with Dr. G.H. Kim as a corresponding author received scientific awards in international conferences. He received more than 10 best paper awards from Korean Society of Phycology. Currently, he is an Executive consul of global seaweed program in EU and a regular member of the expert consultants board of Korean Research Foundation (KRF). From 2012 to 2015, he was Vice president of Korean Society of Phycology. From 1994 he has graduated over 60 M.Sc. degree students and 10 Ph.D. students. He created an electronic transcriptomic and metagenomic database of marine and freshwater organisms “Phycogene”.
